Pain Management

At Lakeside Natural Health, we understand how debilitating chronic pain can be. We help support those looking for alternative treatments to prescription painkiller use.

Our compassionate practitioners offer several natural treatment options for managing chronic pain.

We treat a variety of issues, including:

  • Muscle tension
  • Headaches
  • Inflammation
  • Lymphatic congestion

Naturopathic Medicine

Our naturopathic doctors develop a personalized pain management treatment plan that considers the root causes of your pain, including lifestyle, nutrition, work, stressors and previous injuries. To ease your symptoms, we begin with a non-drug approach that seeks to reduce inflammation, improve physical rehabilitation and balance your mind and body to reduce the perception of pain. Instead of using opioids or NSAIDs, your plan will include dietary recommendations, nutritional supplements and botanical medicines proven to help reduce pain and inflammation.

Holistic Nutrition

Our holistic nutritionist can work with you in more detail to fine-tune your diet, pinpointing what foods should be added or removed. Some foods decrease inflammation, while others can cause more discomfort. In addition, we’ll explore botanical medicines to further promote healing and supplements that improve muscle and organ function and bone health.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture stimulates your nerves, muscles and connective tissue, boosting your body’s production of pain-killing chemicals and improving your mood. It is beneficial for the treatment of low back and neck pain, nerve pain, headaches, osteoarthritis and more.

As an add-on service for acupuncture and cupping, we offer NormaTec sessions for your lower body. Our dynamic compression device uses compressed air to massage your legs and hips, moving lymphatic fluid from your lower limbs to reduce swelling and speed recovery.

Massage

Massage is a fantastic treatment option for both chronic pain and acute physical injuries. Therapeutic massage relieves pain in several different ways. It relaxes tense muscles, tendons and joints that are causing you discomfort and limiting your range of motion. It’s also a powerful stress and anxiety buster, reducing levels of stress hormone in your body while improving focus and mood.

Our RMT Alison is additionally trained in cupping, prenatal massage and hot stone massage.

Social Work

Chronic pain often takes an emotional toll. Our compassionate social worker will offer tools and support to manage psychological and emotional trauma you may be facing. Counselling can support patients who are coping with diabetes, cancer and pain due to chronic injury or illness and will remind you that you’re not alone in your struggle.

Let’s get you started on your
path to better health.
